Default Posting problems...

Not so much related to 1/2a, but it seems like something has been changed on RCU lately and none of the swedish guys have been able to post anything lately...For me it works with Safari rather than Firefox, are anyone else here having these problems?(Hmmm, a bit stupid to ask here I guess for people who can't post....)

I think RCU is staging a silent protest to guys in Sweden because ABBA is threatening to do a comeback tour?

I cannot post or reply using the normal buttons - my text box appears, then disappears. I can only use the Fast Reply opton at the bottom of the thread.

This started yesterday AFAIK. I use IE 7.

" Please resist the urge to curse, flame, degrade, insult or embarrass someone in your post. We encourage the free flow of your ideas, but believe that they can be communicated (and received) much more effectively if you keep things civil. If you have to vent, take it offline. We carefully monitor posts and will ban individuals who engage in offensive conduct within the forums. Thanks.!! (RCU Policies)"

That text is meant to be above the writing box, so it seems like the box is gone in some browsers.ABBA did make some great music at the time, and I sure hope it stays that way...

I don't seem to have any problems posting. The warning in red type is above the reply box on my Firefox.

I've experienced trouble with rapid backspacing, it wipes out big chunks of text with pauses in between. The smiley guy box takes forever to materialize. I have no idea what was wrong with the old RCU.....well the last changes they made caused photos to take forever to enlarge. RCU's format was the most functional for me probably 3 or 4 years ago.

Apparently it was working reliably and nobody was grumbling about it, so they decided it was time for an upgrade.

I went to post today and the posting box didn't display for a few seconds.  I think they might have added some editing features.  It is possible that your browser isn't refreshing properly, try hitting ctrl-F5.

Mine was a tad slow on the initial load -it looks like they've added an expanded toolbar for the text box. Like Bipe Flyer posted, I suspect if your browser is caching pages and not automatically refreshing, you may not be seeing the new editing box and have to force it.

I've cleared the cache and removed the cockie, nothing helps. Control + F5 changes the sound level on my laptop...

Netscape seems to work though and I get the new textbox head etc.

Refreshing does nothing. I get "error on page" down to the left. The text box appears for a second, then poof it's gone.

It's your IE security settings. If they are set to high, then the edit box wont display. Try medium-high under "Tools" > "Internet Options" > "Security".

More specifically, active scripting must be enabled.

Edit:
OK, I did some checking. The security issue is to do with a third party editor named FCKeditor, which looks like a great product btw. RCU added some really nice features with the new editor, but it requires a little adjustment to your security settings.
