I have to admit I have never seen a Cox run that slow... but the prop looked like a 7" electric prop... way too much disk area to generate much power. When he gets it to work with 5.5X4 on it I will be very interested.

Here's another video from the same guy.

It's hard to tell if this is being throttled or choked. I have been working with surestarts with exhaust restricting throttle rings. Some of the engines will sputter away at 3500 RPMs for several minutes while other engines may die at 5500 RPM.

You are exactly right. All my old Fords had them. GM used them too.
Ido like the way it enabled you to use regular test leads and clips to get the fire to the head.

Right about the 1952 Chevy window handle clip. Door handle clip too. For the carb, I built a simular arrangement using an AP .09 carb and a short piece of rubber windshield wiper tube [remember the old 'vacuum wipers'?] but the carb was directly behind the grey plastic motor mount and required a different engine mount. I suppose a 90 degree turn could be made from copper plumbing elbows. But my Sure Start never ran that slow: Humm? Wonder if I could use a 9X6 wood prop cut down to 8X6, as the Texaco guys do to get a slower rpm so they don't use the fuel so quickly?

If you double click on the video, you get the YouTube site with the text at the right. I went to Google translate and the language is Thai.

============================

Experiment using cox .049 Die Cast with caburator produced by your bugzidor ... made in thailand ... using oil L. Gordon Horn shark brand lubricants used 75% 20% Lahueg Night Petrochemicals 5% run-. 2 fuel tanks in each 20 cc ....

============================

I think that he's eliminated the original needle assembly and is feeding the engine directly with this throttle. Note the fuel line going to the throttle instead of underneath. The needle itself, though, looks like its from the Surestart so bugzidor may have made the throttle as a one off.

Doesnt seem very practical, if you cant blip the throttle at least...if it needs to move that slow, what application would work?..Rog
neat idea..

I'd designed this carb., since, '07, and the latest version shown, they have been launched to Thailand local market. Really, popular and cheap...!

If, you'd like to see, how the throttle response(my previous version, same design, but, much smaller)

My new idea to cut the engine noise...
The muffler is very cheap and ease to make, because, it was made from a scrapped piece of Aluminum window/door frame.

There appears to be a air atomizing hole at the needle height for the rock solid idle mixture & the snappy response from idle. At WOT it would effect nothing.

The way a carburator was built.............. before all of us had to have a computer chip to feed gas into each cylinder.

Sorry, for not being clear. I meant power loss with the muffler.

Bugzidor, more details please. A drawing would also be great. That looks very professionally built too.

Yes, there is a slightly loss, actually, we have to trade between the noise reduction and the engine rpm., the lesser the engine noise, the more loss the prop. rpm. I have measure on the same condition, I can read 11,160rpm. with muffler(one shown in the picture)and 12,690rpm. without muffler (prop. 6x4", nitro15%). Unfortunately that, I have no sound level meter to compare the noise.

Comparison the engine rpm. between with and without muffler, same loading condition.

Bugzidor, if you do your testing with a 6x3 prop, I think that will better represent what most guys use on their .049s. The 6x4 prop is a slight over load.
Your engine accesories look very good!
