ok guys heres the situation, iv been out of flying for 3 years do to all sorts of problems, now im gradually getting back to the hobby and almost have everything to fly apart from anything flyable and it will be a few months before i can get something ready to fly. And if im honest i really need to get a good old smell of that glow fuel being burnt and that feeling that you have when ya go flying.

Now i figured the cheapest way and quickest way to solve that thirst of wanting to fly is build something small around a 30 inch wingspan that i can mount a small cox 049 on to. i have wood covering mini servos rx and tx glues everything apart from a plan and a little 049, i no i could have an airworthy plane in just a few evenings and my problem could be solved for a few months to come.

So if you have a plan you could email let me know and if your in the uk and can spare a little cox 049 for a small mount of cash let me know as im really getting withdrawals from flying, its been that bad and embarrassing iv been sat in my building room holding the transmitter sat with my eyes closed going through all the stick inputs lmao. i guess that happens when you fly for just under 10 years and have a 3 years break

In return for all the help il gladly put up a build on here to entertain you all with as many pictures as i can possibly upload. thanks guys

Printing the plan as i type thanks again SKALIWAG and SGC its perfect for the job. just leaves a 049 to track down now. what size props are best for them?

SGC, thanks! Have balsa, will build. I've been looking for something fast and cheap; here's your sign! I, too, will post pics soon. The KAOS is first, although I downloaded several plans. My 8-year-old is absolutely DYING to get into this hobby, and the HAVOC heli just isn't enough. Looks like fun.

no cp i havent worked in a barf factory haha. thanks for the compliments guys the 1/2a bug has bitten me as its come to my attention they are in allot of ways far cheaper to build then the average size plane, which is just perfect fpr the budget im working to. and wolfy post pics as soon as you start building yours they go together real fast.

Will do; I bought a BUNCH of balsa last year at a close-out sale (like, 20# of various sizes and thicknesses) for $5 and have been looking for small, quick projects to share with my son. The KAOS is one of my favorite ships; I've built probably 30 of them over the years. I hope that the 1/2 A flies as good as the rest of the sizes. Since I prefer full-house control setups, I will more than likely power it with an O.S. .10, so I can have throttle. Maybe not, since this seems to be designed for WOT flying. Decisions, decisions.

sounds great. im looking at the kaos plan at this very minute wondering if i should print the plan off to build after the dnu is done, though i have a rather neat jet style 1/2a lined up also. i also perfer full house you have way more control and when it comes to aerobatics at least you have all the main controls for almost half the entire list of aerobatics haha. not just stuck to rudder and elevator. i have a target anyway i want to get an 1/2a model to knife edge then il be happy. i need to stock up on balsa and some 049 engines but its going to have to be when i get some spare cash, this house seems to eat money

haha thanks, if ur refering to the cockatiels then there a royal pain in the ass, 4 am every morning they start wake up and then try waking me up too.
thanks for your compliments too i too cannot wait to see it fly, if i can get that engine before next week is up i may be able to get her maidend next weekend im aiming for the 8th but iv yet to find money for a prop and small nicad pack as the full size jr pack will be too much weight i think.

thanks everyone for the nice coments it makes me want to build more and more it sorta feeds my imagination and effort. well its gone 3 am over here tried to sleep and i cant so i may just crack on geting the wing started or should i say built and coverd. while im waiting for the engine to arrive il get this finished and my next 1/2a started.

well guys fin and stab has been built and covered and fitted, iv managed to make a solarfilm hinge for the elevator. elevator servo is installed and so has the pushrod. onto the wing now il pop some pictures up later of how its looking.

having some trouble downloading plan for KAOS-style ship; the plan as printable doesn't come up on my comp. Any thoughts or suggestions? I got the sorta 150 and the DNU, but the plan for the KAOS, as I said, won't come up.
