The future of Cox Engines
********
Estes sold off the Cox engines, parts, & etc.,in January of 2009.What now will be the future of the small Cox engines? Is anyone going to pick up the line and start making these engines?
There has to be a lot of these little gems out there in basements and garages that have not been fired up in many months.

RE: The future of Cox Engines
And MECOA are producing glowheads, head gaskets, spinners and prop screws for ALL the Cox engine sizes-up to and including the .15 Medallion and TD-and parts for those .15's haven't been made for a long long time-even by Cox-so the future is looking quite bright really. the bits you generally break or lose-heads, gaskets, prop screws, needle valves reeds etc are available-and soon hopefully, TD and Medallion carb housings-the last vulnerable bits-will be produced-so it should be possible to keep your Cox engines running indefinitely.

This is certainly good news! I have been a builder and flyer for nearly 70 years and am now a player once again. It's hard to get up to speed on all the events I've missed in the past few years.
Thanks much for you replies on this thread.

RE: The future of Cox Engines
The future is bright indeed, but don't expect to see mass production of the entire product line any time soon. This is simply not cost effective.
