1/2 A Bushwacker project
Here are a few pix of the 1/2A Bushwacker project. It's coming along slowly, mostly because of decisions about what to include and in what order to do what. I think it might make a good plane for electric as well. Pretty messy tiny area here, the plane barely fits when the wings are mounted.

RE: 1/2 A Bushwacker project
This isn't a kit, I shrunk the plans to a size I thought would work for 1/2A. I always liked the looks of the plane, but with limited flying ability I decided not to take a chance on building the original kit and smashing it, but to build a smaller version. The biggest differences are using srtip ailerons instead of the barn door ones on the plans and going 2 channel with no rudder. After flying it I can go to rudder if I need.
I saw the 5th Dimension in '70 and always like Marilyn McCoo's voice. I'm retired now and stay pretty busy working as a musician so I listen a lot as I build-best of both worlds!

RE: 1/2 A Bushwacker project
Now I have a pretty good idea of what the Bushwacker will look like. I'm fitting the radio gear and I'll dope the fusleage and rudder, outside once winter is gone. Where the original had a bit of fuselage above the sholder wing, I decided to save the wieght and leave it out, tho it gives the plane some really cool lines. The wing has no dihedral for the ailreons, but if I need to use ridder instead, I can cut the wings in half, insert a wedge and glue then back together.
Total weight with radio is 15 oz. I added a few gussets for strength and built up the stab with 1/8" sq, sheeted only on the top surface with 1/32". I used Solarflim like you guys recommended. I took the complete radio out of an ARF plastic/foam plane from Nitro RC.

Nice looking airplane.... I'll bet it tracks really nice with that high aspect ratio wing and swept tail to cheat the tail moment a little. Gonna be fun for ya!

Cool project. So the question remains, how does it fly???

Beeza, how were you able to get the rib outlines and some of the bulkhead shapes since they are not on the plans?
