You built a guillows in one night? Well done. Most people take a year for one of those kits

This is definitely a hard core modeler's project. Every chance to save weight, but build the plane barely strong enough for flight must be used. The tiny RC planes that guys are building now are amazing.
I'd get this model completed first and test flown before commiting to floats.

Comet Models made a 25 inch span Aeronca K Seaplane with floats. This kit can be found on #baY quite often and does not cost very much. Not a highly sought after kit. Might be a next build for you

ok let me elaborate i built the frame in one night..couldnt sleep so i built for 8 hrs ....i didnt cut it for control surfaces yet though.....wouldnt take me but a few hours to cover it.....i think i might just stain the frame an keep it as is or skin it with balsa an stain it........build somthin a little bigger to fly.....guess i need to learn to fly again first.........oh i did some research...for this plane scale(ish) floas would be about 13.5'' long so i drew some up real quik on sketchup.....says 80% the fuse length but seems long.........guess ill have to build an find out

80% of the fuselage length seems about right. Remember that on the real ones there's quite a bit sticking out the front and that the step is located under and a little forward of the balance point.

And a display model sounds like a good use for the original kit given the wood quality in those things.

For me it's becouse I tried to build one (Eindecker I think) as a kid, it was a total disaster. All I had was a taped double edge raser blade and ambroid glue. Now that I'm older and wiser...lol (yeah right) I'm building another with the right tools and ca glue becouse gosh darned I want to see that thing fly...
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

IMHO those WERE the right tools for that project. [8D]
