What a great adventure you're having RR!
Regardless of how aware he is of his admirers Worldwide, I'm sure he was pretty honored to have a fan come all the way from San Francisco to show up and pay his respects.
I'll bet he appreciates your visit to him as much as any plaque he might have hanging on a wall.
That 1cc engine looks like it could've rewritten some record books, too bad the vultures glommed onto the 10 working units before they were put into service. What a tragic waste!

Rob -you and the rest will probably hate me now-I was one of the 10 lucky ones-but it will end up in an F1J model [I don't own any glass cases.........] I had a head start-I have a german friend who keeps me abreast of local developments! Enjoy. Superbly made as all Benno's stuff is. But quite a lot heavier than the Cyclon. Comparable to the new Fora, which you can also see below. For those of you wanting decent F1J or combat 1/2A engines-the Profi is probably the way to go-the Cyclons having got to ca $250 US, the Profis being around $140-$160-still expensive-but not outrageous. FWIW the Schlosser was 150 E-but as you've noted it is rather exclusive.........

To hell with the BILD-girls - I'm really getting wood now
Wood you please get it in a model and a photo?
I beleive he quoted the 150E number which puts it between the Profi and the Cyclon.
If we could arrange another run we could get some p/l sets

Well Rob- it does have the same mounting as the Cyclon-so will fit the Galbreath Cyclon mounts-and the Ken Oliver tube. First I have to get the Omarama FF World Cup series out of the way before I can start any (new) building........there will be some good F1J fliers there-Mike Roberts (USA), John Bailey(UK),Alan Jack (UK) Roy Summersby (Aust)-will keep a closer than usual watch on their F1J models for inspiration. But for the next month my focus will be F1A-no engines required.......!

Nope they use a 4-hole mount in an inverted trapezium shape-the upper holes are 21mm apart, the lower pair 15.5mm, and the upper and lower pair are once again-15.5mm apart-as below. Definitely not like a Babe Bee. Cyclon mounting holes are a bare 2mm clearance (very snug), Schlosser the same
