Rog,

I tried to check it out online but the Hobby Lobby that I found in Asheboro and in High Point I think is the Hobby Lobby that sells craft stuff.

The Hobby-Lobby that sells RC stuff is in Brentwood, TN.

I might be totally wrong, I have never been to either of those places so I don't know what they sell.

what and where did you hear about it?

yeah it would,

I feel like for a state with as many huge open spaces, and as many RC'ers that the Hobby Shop selection is pretty few and far between.

it's a bummer, the closest hobby shop not on my 'puter screen is more than an hour away.

Its probably the craft store. The one in Brentwood, TN is the only location I know of. The hobby shop is called Hobby Lobby International. Hobby Lobby is a craft store.

You have found outthat there are two separate companies with very similar names.

One is purely an Arts and Crafts chain:

http://www.hobbylobby.com/

The one we're interested in is here:

http://www.hobby-lobby.com/

The A&C chain used to have a note on their home page about the "Model" Hobby Lobby, but just checked and don't see it now.

Definitely don't take your marital co-pilot with you if you go check out your local Hobby Lobby A&C. You'll go in for balsa and some exacto blades and come out with a basket full of stuff that smells vaguely like Grandma's house.

On the high side, the hobby lobby near my house has a pretty good selection of balsa and for a reasonable price. Just look everything over well as it doesn't appear they grade by weight, its just organized by size.
