Another one of my famous last-10%-to-go projects needing the final push, the Fruipita (named after a bag of candies I ate while building it). What you see here is less radio and pushrods, but with aileron torque rods - yes Ma one servo, they're plenty stiff and that wing is thin - and weighs 197 grams/6.9 ounces. So add two HS65HB's, a 300mAh NiMH (33 grams) plus an Rx (dunno what yet gotta buy one) and pressure bladder and I hope I can keep it

Looks fast. Is that a sheathed foam wing? Never seen that motor before, who makes them?

Hey.... Get off your butt and finish that thing. You can probably get it into the air with an hours worth of work.

What size prop will you use with that engine? Is there anything special you have to use as far as fuel tank? I know mufflers cut power but are mufflers available?

Why ask Drube, It'll never run much less actually fly. There is only an hours worth of work left. He's moved on to a new nearly incomplete project already...heck he has already started a similar thread on a totally different model that has 90% of the CAD done.[X(]

Oh what have I done.. unleashed the demons of RCU to torment my soul? [:@]

I asked for it!

Soon as I get down to the LHS I'll get me some servos and another Rx and off we go.

Props suitable for this thing would be APC 4.2x4, 4.5x3.5, or composite 1/2A speed props like 4.25x4/4.5/5, that sort of thing. You could fly it on 1/2A combat props but those would hamper top speed although the pull would be tremendous by comparison. It's supposed to make peak power at 36k, and not to be propped for less than 30. Muffler? Nope, not a chance, bring hearing protection. Fuel - typical 1/2a fare is fine. Tank is a pressure bladder.

WOW FSR! Lookin' pretty hot! [X(]

MJD, hfenn summed it up pretty good, the last 10% does seem to take 90% of the time.

Tighten up the old moolabunda and get your's done, tested, perfected and put away for the big day down at Vic's Speed Rally.
I'm curious to see how the CG on your's works out. It looks like it ought to haul!

Don't ask questions when you really don't want to know the answer.

I just try to concentrate on the airfoil (slick, BTW) and ignore the rest.

It'smerely the dining room table, with the usual junk that has to be cleaned off every meal - clown wig, my son's diabetic kit, overdue bills, torn envelopes, the Alien VHS set my son bought at a garage sale, etc.

I assure you there is no kinky stuff going on involving my wife dressed as a Roman gladiator and me in a clown wig, stockings and high heels, body lotion, and stray animals.. none whatsoever.. [sm=angel_smile.gif]

That should be framed and hung above everybody's workbench.
