CYCLON RODEO !!!
Here's a simple plane for ya...
26" x 5" wing from 1/4" thick balsa.
Balsa box fuselage made mostly from 3/32" balsa
Aileron and elevator control with HS 65s
I've had the plane flying great with a TD .049. I expected more greatness with the Cyclon, but don't have the CG set quite forward enough yet to do speed passes...it's just forward enough to keep it from crashing.

This old photo was taken before I changed the V tail to a conventional. The V tail linkage was set up too stiff for the servo to handle.

That's a good question. This is why I don't get too obsessed with weight with these planes any more. They're no good as light weight fragments blowing in the wind.
It's the fuel creepage that gets into the forward wood that does them in eventually. I sometimes think the ideal fuselage would be all fiberglass with an aluminum firewall.

RE: CYCLON RODEO !!!
I think the last time I opened my mouth here was to take a friendly shot at CP for what looked like a heavy Lazy Bee build.... Than he posted the video. WOW!
Than the Bat out of Hell re-appeared, smoking by at well over 100mph.... Double WOW!
Now this one is back! Wonder how fast this one will go after a few tweaks??? All this flying at break-neck speed, filming and talking like he is flying a Slow Stick around,,,
Brings to mind a line from the movie "The Lion King", ""And they call me MR PIG"" lol
I for one bows to the king,,,,
thanks for the videos CP!

Hey WC!
....we'll see what some tweaks bring out. For some reason, from what I saw it just doesn't seem like it's going to be real fast compared to the BatOOH.
With a TD .049 this plane seemed pretty fast.
Jury's still out and I'll get some doppler to show what is what and to get a comparison to the flying wing.

Since you're fairly new to this forum, you need to know that CP only deals in FAST. He builds fast (although I'm still not convinced that he doesn't have a cadre of builders out in the barn turning out planes) and he flys fast. If a plane doesn't go, it either hits the burn barrel or ends up in the barn rafters. His SWR's are always a treat.
