Default Has anybody built the BMJR Simplex 45?

It has a clunky antique FF appearance that I find appealing. 45" WS.

Default RE: Has anybody built the BMJR Simplex 45?

I haven't built this version-but I have built two examples of the 40" span one as published in Aeromodeller ca 1984 (ie 2/3 scaled of the original) I've also see several examples of the 60" one flown-and an enlarged 80 or 84" one was popular in NZ in the mid-late 80s for R/C Vintage duration events with something like a Surpass 48 up front. The design seems to fly well regardless of size. My two 40" ones flew on 1cc ME Heron and DC Spitfire diesel power. The first was lost in crops at a NZ Nationals many years ago, while the current one has won the Vintage precision event on a number of occasions.
Not a very pretty model-but a reliable easy to build flier.
