Please define some Cox terms

I've been checking out the Cox International website and terms such as Tee Dee (TD), Medallion, and Sure-Start are used regularly with no explanation (that I could find anyway) of what they mean. Can somebody explain how a Tee Dee engine differs from a Medallion engine and where the current production "Bee" engines fit in? Also, I've noticed that "Sure-Start" engines don't have the coil spring behind the prop. Therefore, what does Sure-Start refer to?

Many thanks,

Harvey

Those are the classic terms associated with Cox engines. I bet you will find answers to most or all of your Cox questions here:

Sure Start refers to engines with the newer plastic backplate that has the choke tube.

Medallions - sport front rotary intake
TD - competition/higher performance front rotary intake
