1/2 A Gee Bee (any model) To Transform

I want to build a Gee Bee (R3 or similar) for 1/2 A. I have a couple of outrageous 049's I would like to power it with. Are there any plans available for one of the Gee Bees that would work? I am guessing something in the 22 inch wing span arena. I have shrunk down a couple of larger plans to the 21 to 24 inch wingspan but they just don't look right. Maybe my eyes are messin' with me. Any suggestions? I guess I could try again unless anyone has any suggestions. Should I try shrinking a couple of other Gee Bee types? Like I said......maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but when I scale one down they look slimmer and don't possess that "chubby" look that I like so well. Love to hear from someone on this.

Go to http://www.outerzone.co.uk and search on Gee. There are multiple plans available --- one may be suitable for you.

I do not recall ever seeing a GeeBee done in 1/2A by anyone at RCU or anywhere else.
I would "cheat" the scale proportions where ever I felt it was necessary and it would still end up looking like a GeeBee. At least enough to make me happy.
Figure that a .074 turning a 7 x 3 prop could handle a 5 inch diameter cowl and a .049 - .061 turning a 6 x 3 prop could handle a 4 inch diameter cowl. I would not want less than 22 - 24 inches of wing span...so those would be my main parameters.

Here is the R3, what a bad-ass looking airplane..

Shame it's not real.
A profile is the way to go for a R1 or R2 to avoid the large Prop / Fat fuselage problem.
I drew a .15 size C/L a few years ago.. never got around to make one though. Probably still have the file around.
A "D" model might be a feasible option

http://www.alienaircraft.com/k301.htm This thing is on my list, I think it would be a perfect flyer with a Norvel, And look who designed it, The man himself Thomas Herr!!

That looks like a nice home for an NV .074.

Yessss...imagine that the prop in that photo is a 7x3. Looks pretty doable to me.

Manzanolaser has a 28" GeeBee-Z that looks nice :)
The Norvel .074 and a 7x3 prop could work well, or why not an MP jet .061 diesel...

The trick to designing one of these is to first find a 1/2 gallon Coke bottle..then go from there.
