I have a CNC foam cutter. Just let me know the airfoil, chord and span.

Rog,

I got my foam cores for my design project from Bipe Flyer, they came out PERFECT.

they are straight, and weigh about half as much as the Ace ones, they were worth every penny that I paid and I believe that I will never get a set from anywhere else. Every time I see Ace ones on eBay I think to myself

"To bad they don't know Andrew, they wouldn't be paying that much for those heavy a@# foamies..."

:D

heheheehe....

no really, get some Rog, they're great.

Hey Bipe Flyer,
I have seen the picture of your cnc foam cutter and I think you mentioned that you put up some info earlier and didn't get too much response. I may have the story wrong, man I have done a lot of reading at this site!

I am interested in upgrading my foam cutting system and wanted to know what computer your system needs and maybe a break down of the cutter you designed.
Is there plans available etc.
I would like to know what kind of a program it takes to run it also.

Thanks,
Marshall

I originally tried a 75 Mhz Pentium , but it was too slow and the cutter didn't work properly. I am now using a 200 Mhz Pentium MMX and it works fine.

I bought the stepper motors, power supplies and driver board from 8linx. I built mine from the information on the 8linx site which is very detailed.

I couldn't find the right parts so I had to re-design quite a bit of it, but the ball bearing drawer slide idea on the 8linx site saved a lot of work

They also have a complete unit available from their commercial site.

I use Profili for generating airfoils.

Then I use Profscan to process the airfoil.

The cutter uses a CNC program from Gilles Muller.
