Howdy gents. I've been doing some drafting. I dont have a name for it yet. specs... ws. 29 in. asp 0.061. El, rud, al. and throttle. shooting for 12.oz. Heres a pic. hkbii.

WOW! That's beautiful, I wish I could draw like that. It looks like it will be a rocket.

Howdy gents. Thanks soarrich. The secrete to drawing is the eraser. I use a pencil and a lot of eraser. She should be fast but I hope she flys good at all speed. I am debating rather to use retracks , wire or no gear at all. The retracks with servo weight 2 oz, I think Ill draw them in and see how close to the 11oz target she'll be. hkbii

Howdy gents. I've been making saw dust. I have the shape of the formers done . now I will cut them out of two 1/16th sheets sandwitched cross grain. I still dont have a name yet but am leaning towards P-42. Th longerons are cut out of 1/8th light ply. and the motor mount is 5 layer aircraft ply. hkbii.

Beautiful job there hkbii! (Dunno what else to call you without a first name.) Those are some really beautiful, flowing curves you've conjured up. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to watch it come together.:D

The only worry I have is that it looks like you've got a bunch of wood in it already. Ya gotta be very frugal with the structure to reach 12 oz with 4 channels of radio and a couple oz. of engine & prop. Hopefully there's no extra glue holding those beautiful parts together.:)

Milton

ps: With your drawing and building talent, you should start (if you haven't done it already) working with CAD. You'll find it's well worth the effort. Then you can send your designs in to a magazine and receive maximum payment for your work. I'm just sayin'....;)

Howdy gents. DICKEYBIRD its funny you said that about the CAD I just got a new in the box AutoCad lt97 I am reading the book now ,I havent loaded it yet. The formers in the pic are just to get the shape. they where out of the scrap box. There will be a lot less wood in the ones that will be in the plane. Keith.

Howdy gents. Ive been doing some more drafting. I just finnished the formers. now I'll take them to the printers and have them copyed. There will be a lot of changes as the build goes on. Im thinking about building two of these at the same time. One for the .061 and retracks and the other one for a .049 , no landing gear and two ch. Keith.

Howdy gents. I've been working on the wing. I built up the trailing eage and the ailerons, thenI cut them off and started again. I cut the ail and T.E out of a large pice of ail stock. I have been trying to find the balance of strenght vers, weight. In aviation balance is the key to success. Balance between weight and lift, drag vers thrust, air speed vers airfoil and strenght vers force. Any way heres a pic, of the progress. Keith.

Nice work, Kieth. I'm interested in how yoou are going to put in the stringers; just use flat end joints and sand off the high part to match the curves, or cut curves parts for each of the stringer lines? More photos, please.

RE: nontest 09.

Howdy gents, Yuu I will be useing a sheet of 1/16th balasa cut in 3/32sd strips. The frist one will be glued to the formers and the second one will have wood glue thined with water50-50, spread on both sides and then the last strip will cap it off.
