Transall C 160
I just got home from the maiden flight of my Nitro Planes C 160.
In the past there has been much discussion arout the merits & failures if this model. My experience has been an over the top sucess.
First take off was silk smooth with a shallow climb out to get the feel of all the controls and how the plane would respond.
After a few clicks of up elevator it flew true - steady and rock solid. First I tested flight a 1/2 throttle and was amazed at the scale speed and docile handeling. Second I tested 1/4 throttle and held altitude, it slowed to a crawl and flew along perfectly happy with no (read that as NO) bad tendecies what so ever. Third I played with it's sport flying abilities. (alieron rolls, loops, stall turns and inverted flight). It is a twin, scale, heavily wing loaded plane that somehow flies with all the forgiveness of a trainer.
Finally, the landing, Slowed to 1/4 throttle on downwind, turned base with a slight throttle reduction and held a very small amount of throttle all the way to about 2 to 3 feet off the runway and then chopped power and made one of the best landings I've ever made.
Completely surprising and very satifying to fly and then you have this beautiful scale C 160 to look at - I highly recomment it.
