Default Twin motor hookup

I am not new to RC, but relatively new to electric. All my planes from 1.20 I have converted to electric and everything above are gas powered. I am finishing up on a twin otter and have questions about wiring the esc's to the receiver.
1. I can wire both receiver plugs to a Y connector and to the receiver.
2. I can cut one of the red wires and then a Y connector to the receiver.
3. I can use two receivers and connect them seperately with left side ailerons and flaps on the left esc and the other side on the right side esc with the rudder and nose wheel steering also seperated.
4. I can cut both red wires and use a seperate flight battery pack.
Which would be the best way to go?
Thanks in advance for your knowledge.
