I remember seeing a demonstration of a Dynajet in the high school auditorium in the 1950s. It could only run for 10 seconds when static. And the engine did turn bright orange. At the Willow Grove NAS Nats back then the control-line jets were unbelievably loud. Pulse jets have no throttle and burn a lot of fuel.
