Scream Machine Scratch Build
Thought I'd post some pics of my Scream Machine scratch build. My first ever scratch build. Done kits, ARF's (i know, they don't count!), but never a real scratch build.
The interesting thing is that there are no drawn plans. You build a Scream Machine from a flat surface, preferably glass, tape down the bottom of the fuse, draw a center line, and lay out from firewall to tail. Sides go on next, then top. Wing is build on simple measurements to a total wingspan of 44". I do have the advantage of having Roger Purcell's templates in my possession, so cutting out parts wasn't difficult, but it was time-consuming. Ribs would be most difficult, but Roger had some ribs he'd had cut some years ago!
Don't have photos of the complete build. Hindsight is 20/20. Next one will be thoroughly documented. However, by the limited photos I have you can see the characteristics of the design.
Hope you enjoy seeing these.
Hope also my choice of color doesn't blind you. Sunglasses optional!!
