RE: ultraspadstik engine standoffs post pics please
I make mine from hardwood (ASH) broom sticks. I cut the length I need on my bandsaw and then drill the hole a little more than halfway through the center from both ends with my drill press. That way the ends are square and the holes go straight through the middle. You can make any length as long as you have a drill bit a little longer than half the standoff length. Or, you can use hardwood square stock 3/4 or 1 inch and cut to length and drill and then box the supports in with 1/8 inch plywood for an even more stable mount. You could cut the square stock from planks of the thickness you need (or have). Good luck.
