Default RE: RC Surfer

the higher the c rate the better, basically buy the highest c rate battery you can afford.

ill try to explain a little

the c relates to how many amps can be drawn from the batt at any one time. and is worked out like this.

a 5000mah batt with c rate of 25c can output a max 125amps theoretically thats 5000mah or 5amp X 25c = 125

a 1000mah batt with c rate of 25c can output a max 25amps thats 1000mah or 1 amp x 25c = 25

and so on

a 4000mah of 70c = 4 x 70 =280amp max discharge rate

basically the higher the c rate the less hard the batt has to work.

dont know your setup but ive had a meter on mine while running and peak amps was over 90.

ive read its recomended too only be using approx 60% of batteries max discharge rate and 50% is better

today i ran 2 X 3000mah 40-50c batts in parrallel, this equates to 6000mah at 40c so 240amp max discharge rate and they still got warm.

however i also use a 5000mah 25c batt without any prob it does get quite warm though.

hope this helps
