RE: diamond dust speed?
I used to buy big rolls of that stuff with a friend, then we each took 1/2 and covered all our styrofoam combat planes with it. It was just clear plastic. It worked really well and was more puncture proof than monokote. We never found it wholesale and the outfit that sold it retail called it "Fascal". Some guys would spray paint or dye the sticky side before covering with it.
Since then, I've heard of a similar product called Avery paper.
I've never tried using it on open framework, I didn't know it would work.
