i think aeromarine uses cables with a gold band as well, might be theres i agree with what you are saying about them being cut down then wielded, it makes sense, however not all the failers are coming at the wielded joint,maybe the floating of the square cable allows some give thats needed, as opposed to a locked in place cable with a collet, i dont really know, im sure there is also a difference in a cable going straight to the prop versus the power going through a clutch and a gear box then spilt to 2 cables delivering power, not arguing with you just disgussing, i do like the cables you posted. they are very nice.
