RE: top flite p-51 giant scale build
Hello All, I just found this thread and i'm having a hard time quitting so i can go to work. There is a ton of great stuff and great builders. Im gathering all the goodies to do the TF GS P-51, and I'll be starting soon. So far I have the kit, DLE 55, Aerotech sliding canopy kit, cockpit, gear doors, and drop tanks, Leo Spychalla cowl, Fiberglass specialties scoop and guns, and Sierra Retracts. Probably going to have gear converted to electric by Down and Locked.
I see several sliding canopies in this thread but I dont see what guys are using to operate the sliders. Anybody doing powered slide or are they mostly manual? If powered, what kind of mechanism? Air? How far are you opening? By scaling from the plans it looks like almost 5" Thanks for all the great info.
