Here's the short story. I'm part of cal poly state university's Baja team (if youd like to see what we and our car look like google cal poly slo baja and then click the first link) which is a team that makes basically a go kart sized version of a baja buggy and we run it for hours and hours in an endurance race. The main reason I'm here is because someone a few years back decided to build i miniature frame of our car at about a 1:5 scale. So i decided that since it was just sitting around I would try and make it into an awesome rc off road well... thing. The problem is i have limited experience in this field and i dont really know where to start. I have a competition ready rc Crawler, so i know a few basics, but I dont really know much in the way of speed demon rc trucks which is somewhat what i am trying to make. To start off, the frame i have looks a little bit like this (at bottom) or.. <a href="http://imgur.com/zYKT2"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/zYKT2.jpg?1" alt="" title="Hosted by imgur.com" /></a> I threw in one standard issue pencil just to give it some depth as to what size it really is. So basically I need pretty much everything necessary to make an RC truck go. The frame probably weighs around 5 or 6 lbs (yes i know its a lot). I'm not trying to spend a glorious amount of cash and the thing doesn't need to go all that fast (although the faster the cooler as long as its at a reasonable price). I need an idea for a motor (electric or nitro) a servo and well pretty much everything else. This thing is going to be totally custom but im trying to just get some components that will work well together. total im trying to spend is around a few hundred dollars(not including a remote i know those things can be pricy) but that can probably be changed somewhat because i dont know prices on a lot of things. So if you have any questions about anything that Im trying to do please let me know. To sum everything up... ummm.... HELP?
