I electrified the PT-17 variant this past winter/spring. As you can see, I made a few modifications to the ARF to suit my tastes.

I used a Feigao 5408411XL with a 5.2:1 planetary gearbox, a Jeti 77 Opto ESC, and 8S2P 8000 mah LiPos, turning a 16-10 APC-E. I am pulling about 1200 watts and amps in the mid 40's. The plane weighs just 12.9 lb. with batteries installed and RTF, and it needed NO additional ballast , thanks to the big 8000 mah packs.

It flies wellnot underpowered, but not what I'd call full out aerobatic power eitherjust sport aero power levels. This might not be enough for the full-tilt aerobatic/3D types out there who like everything they fly to be able to hover ( ), but it's very usable for sport flying. Best of all, it's LIGHT.
