Default RE: Futaba 4YF Charging Way Too Long

ORIGINAL: SooperFlye

As in post #4 that charger is a constant voltage charger, not a peak detect charger.
It does not stop charging until turned off after 10<15hrs.
The 4YF has no voltage indicator apart from the LED .
If both Red &Green LED are lit, TX is indicating OK as per manual page 7
"Two LED display to indicate battery voltage level. If the red LED flashes, replace batteries."

What you have not mentioned is the current voltage of the pack
- full charge should show between 10.1 - 11.1V & one cell down would show a voltage of 8.8<9.6v.

Battery is a firm fit but should drop out when Tx bumped on your palm, if overchargedit could well have
swollen and may require steady leverage a little at a time at each end.
Then check plugs and leads through the charging circuit to On/Off switch for
Black Wire Corrosion

Thanx Alan,,,
hmm, though its been a while, I thought the LED went off when fully charged. Maybe not.

Alan you seem to suggest a measuring tool is available for checking the Tx battery. Any recommendations? Is there such a tool for Rx?
I was able to finally get the battery out, whew!! I'll wait for feedback about the tools for checking the Tx/Rx.
