If you want to compete, get a Nelson or a Jett engine.
You can find them at
www.pspec.com (Nelson), or at
www.jettengineering.com (Jett)
These things are expensive and not intended for engine rookies though, so if you are an engine rookie get someone to help you or start out with a sport engine. They don't like lean runs at those rpms and there's no throttle...
It might not be such a bad idea to start out with a sport engine anyway, because a Quickee plane on a Nelson engine can be a bit of a monster on take off (especially on grass... lots of torque, tiny landing gear, tiny rudder...)
