Default RE: RC Pet Peeves

ORIGINAL: Argess

Yep, the term "mill" is annoying. I don’t know why it bothers me, but it does.

I use "engine" for internal combustion (or steam) and "motor" for electric, however some dictionaries say you can use "motor" for internal combustion, but I don't.

Spelling bothers me a bit too. "Brake" vs "break" is a classic. And then there's "they're", "their", and "there". It goes on... but I don't mention it unless I it's so bad I can't understand it. I make mistakes too... or is it "to" or maybe "two"? LOL.

But my main pet peeve is how certain RC vehicles, engines, etc., are perceived in such a black and white way by various forum members. Just because I choose a certain engine replacement when there is a "better" one I could have used, doesn't necessarily mean the one I bought is junk. It also doesn’t mean “your” engine will “blow my engine away”. Your engine may be better, but to what extent? Maybe mine is satisfactory for me and my driving skills? Basically, just because one RC vehicle (or component) is better than another, doesn’t necessarily mean the “other” is garbage.

EDIT: Oops, I see some of the things I mentioned were posted as I typed.
This is often an issue with fanboys lol
