Also, if you do not subscribe to Model Airplane News, go out and buy the this months' issue (Sept. 2013 issue, page 34). You could also borrow a club member's copy.... In there you can read the article about how to hold the sticks for accuracy improvements (an alternative pinch method )... It is a great article and since I have incorporated that technique, over my previous thumb method, my flyiing has greatly improved, especially in the very area that you describe. All of us have that problem to some degree, even the very best/pros.
You may also try to incorporate a tad bit of exponential (expo) into your computer radio to help alleviate some of the shakes... maybe 10%-20%, and as you improve and get more comfortable with the plane and sticks, you can start to remove the expo or leave it as is.
