Default RE: Any Arfs?

A dragster is built for the drag strip... that is going as fast as you can in one quarter mile... as I'm sure you know. These guys have horrendous amounts of horsepower on tap, and aerodynamic drag is only there for like two seconds or so. The biggest challenge with these things is keeping them going straight and keeping them on the ground... that's about it.

If you want to go really fast you just a have to take aerodynamic drag into account, there's no way around it. While a top fuel dragster is going pretty fast towards the end of the 1/4 mile it is nowhere near the extreme speed realm.

Take a look at cars built for going really fast... like the ones they use to break the sound barrier on ground... now there's aerodynamics for ya...
If you look at the history of these cars it is obvious that the people who built them very quickly came to realise that aerodynamics are a major factor when it come to going fast...
