The FrSky Taranis is far and away the best value these days for a sport radio. Open source programming, computer interface, model match, voice capabilities, telemetry, module slot for Futaba, JR or Spektrum modules, plus receivers are only $20.00 or so. All for less than $200 for the transmitter.

The telemetry functions are incredible. I have real time receiver battery voltage and signal strength received by the receiver on my transmitter. I'm buying a variometer for my glider, just plugs into my receiver and gives me altitude and rate of climb indication at the transmitter.

The FrSky Taranis is light years ahead of the mainstream radio manufacturers. Worth a look!
