Angry Problems with Glow to Electric Conversion

Hi,

Long storey short. I'm replacing an OS 108 two stroke in a fun-scale Dynaflight PT - 19.

The motor is 5535-10 KV=230
Running on ten cells
Prop size recommended 20" to 22"
I'm using a 21x8 prop

I first used a Turningy 120AMP Speedy. It lasted about 6 flights before there was a loud pop followed by lots of smoke.

I replaced the speedy with a Hyperion Atlas 90 AMP opto
This combo runs to about 3/4 throttle then emits a loud screech and stops. If you close throttle and open again it works to about the same throttle setting.

Hmmmmm I though and tried another motor albeit 280KV with exactly the same result.

I've checked solder joints, timing, throttle delay and am about to check into a mental institution or go back to glow.

Does anyone have any helpful suggestions?

Many Thanks in Advance
