You will get a reduction in range but on all these (27MHz, 50 MHz, 53MHz, 72MHz and 75MHz) you can get by in most cases by doing what Les says above. Just make the turns are as near the base of the receiver as possible with as much of the free end still straight out in a single direction and make sure none of the turns overlap each other. Do a range check before trusting any hi dollar plane to this but you are likely to get 500 ft. range or more, quite a bit more in some cases.
