Canopy glue works well with plastic hinges. The "canopy" part is target marketing.
I've seen a crashed model B-17, where the wood was broken next to the hinges, but the wood remained firmly attached to them. I asked about the glue used, and the reply was "canopy."
I've been using it ever since, with no problems involved.
I am in complete agreement with not using it on CA hinges, which require CA for proper installation.
