well, some progress was made on the turret this past week, the first pic has the parts i am going to use for the main gun. most of the metal parts are Heng Long parts and through test fitting them seem they will work well. I had to modify the front of the tamiya turret by cutting off the extruding piece of plastic and add a little groove in each upper corner. I then glued the mantlet on and added milput to the inside to help hold the mantlet on and pushed it through the gaps on each end to seal it closed. I added the the smoke grenade launcher on the left side with a piece of brass tubing and then a small strip of miliput around that. Once that was done, i worked on adding the cast in extra armor on the right side cheek of the turret. Once again miliput came into play. i added a small strip of plastic at the bottom and miliput was added to represent the increased armor. I then painted the mantlet green and will continue to finish the trunion and install the main gun.
