So after getting this vehicle used, i noticed after some bashing that the spur gear was making grinding noises, its a plastic gear against a metal pinion that looks like it bit a few small rocks, so after ordering a new hot racing hardened steel spur and pinion gear and replacing them, i notice the slipper pad has a few rough spots, nothing major, and after the first run i can hear that as i begin to take off, theres grinding not gear on gear but like the slipper pad maybe, its like if multiple plastic gears were moving with no where to go, do you think its the slipper pads? or maybe i did something wrong, theres a small gap between the pinion and spur gear, possible big enough for a piece of paper to barely make it through. I also have seen it not have as much torque, both the pinion and spur are a bit smaller then the original, would a bigger pinion make up for the torque ? with out having to get a new spur gear too..
