Big
I don't think the larger set was available when I put mine together. Although the smaller set had held up the larger size could be a good option. The limiting factor is the distance from the front of the wing to the spar. Several others hinted that cutting into the spar is a bad idea. It is already notched for the gear legs and I would have to agree that cutting more would be a bad idea. Nose over has not been an isse for me. The 5 deg of difference probably won't change the stability and handling a noticeable amount. Whatever you do it's a fun relatively easy to fly warbird.
LDM - I have a set of the FMS retracts in a Starmax Skyraider about the same size at the FMS Corsair. They work on the lighter foamy but I wouldn't expect them to hold up with a slightly heavier plane.
