My Laser Arrow's elevon servos were mounted under hatches, but no external fairings were present. At the time, it never even occurred to me that fairings would be a plus. Kind of like a Shrike, it was too thick to inspire much thought of refinement.
Where I saw the fin / fairings was in a batch of random photos while doing a Laser Arrow Google search..so it could have been a different model.
