Ya the hexes have been identical front to rear on every model i have seen. Make sure of the hex size as there are three major ones. 12mm, 14mm, and 17mm. For the rustler i would be almost certain that it uses the 12mm like most of the traxxas models but i haven't had that particular one so i cant be certain. I like the badlands on the back for the track and a set of narrow duratrax tires for the front, i think i'm using the "six packs" on the front right now.
