Default Need advice about Buffers/Polishers

I want to get a high speed buffer/polisher for rubbing out and buffing clear coat painted surfaces. I know almost nothing about what to get and what to avoid. In the past I have hand rubbed out my clear coat finishes. I have had pretty good results but Im tired of the hard work. What kind of buffers (powered) do you guys use, like, or dislike. Air powered or electric. I would prefer to not spend big bucks but will spend what it takes to get good results and do the job correctly. I figure a fairly small diameter wheel will be best, approx 3 inches ? What sort of RPM is required ? And so on and so forth ? Please educate me. Thanks
