New acquisition:
The top flite F4U that I acquired 2 weeks ago had the wing come off at the last flyin. It appeared that I didn't tighten the wing bolts enough and they came loose so, since I have the gear and engine, I bought a new one. I had so much fun flying and doing aerobatics with it that I had to get another one. With no 'skin in the game' with an ARF and only money, it makes a different kind of experience versus flying my CARF folding wing F4U (both have their advantages).
Since it's only an ARF, there will not be any thread on it with only a few comments, now and then.
The box for it is gigantic.
All is well packed and taped together so nothing moves. Lots of bubble wrap around everything and plenty of hardware. They even give you a working stand for it.
No mods will be done as this is strictly a plane for small fields and doing things I wouldn't do with my other planes.
Compared to the Ziroli P-47 fuse, the F4U is respectable. I spent the evening ironing all the monocote (nasty on a warbird but that's the way it's staying: cheap and into the air quickly).
