Maiden,
Got her down in one piece with no damage but things did not go well. After how well the TF corsair flew, I was expecting the P-47 to fly great.
First off, I had way too much 'up' in the elevator and the plane took off in probably 20', which was scary.
The plane was very 'twitchy' and, one time, I got her too slow and she snapped: fortunately, I was high enough and recovered.
On landing, I put the flaps down on final approach and she ballooned on me so I went around and landed without flaps. Came in hot but landed OK: thick grass and, just at the end, when she was going slow, she just settled on her nose, with no damage to plane or prop.
The top hatch came off, couldn't find it but only cost 20 bucks for a new one.
I must be doing something wrong as others have the P-47 and they fly great.
