I'm more of a "real time" builder and like to build models that resemble restored aircraft. Being we are not at war like back in W2 I tend to hobby in the now then in the past so for me I don't care for weathering. But to each his own, both are valid.

That there is funny. I flew in F-16, F15, B52, T37, T38, T39, EA6B, C17 over the last 20yrs......not a one was clean and I only flew combat in the B52. They are not as beat up as what you see from the Vietnam type era, but they are not clean and shiny. It's ok to not weather them if that is your preference. Just not as "scale" as a slightly weathered military jet.
