Okay dokey... More goodies in the house and installed...
Tekno "big bone" centre driveshaft, the King Headz motor mount, blue RPM bumper, Traxxas aluminum turnbuckles.
The Tekno piece is pretty nice.
To be fair the stock motor mount is a decent piece. However, the King Headz piece is an obvious upgrade; just not the "must do" that the aluminum bearing carrier is.
May as well sort out this minor issue as well since I will opening up the truck a bit.
Nice!
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. These may well be upgrades I did not really need to do (unlike the MIPs axles, aluminum bearing carrier etc). However, until I run out of upgrades to do "Crash" will continue to get whatever it takes to make it the best 1/10 truck it can be.
Gah! I forgot to put the blue RPM bumper on instead. Also, I have the Proline body screw "thingies" which I will put on another day. I still have the old body mounts so I may try my hand drilling into them to get some practice in. I am getting a bit sick of body pins. On my Rustler the front body posts are aluminum and really easy to work with and it is only the rear one which is plastic. However, on my Stampedes I would far rather have the Proline solution.
Rusty the Rustler also got some love. My LHS sells used stuff on consignment so I was able to get another charger and a pretty much mint set of badlands on desperados. I figured why not? The charger, wheels/tires, and the parts I picked up all cost me less than a new set of Proline Badlands. Worked out pretty good.
Even the Rustler got some wrenching done to it.
RPM shock cups to replace and upgrade the stock Traxxas ones on the Ultrashocks.
Put the longer battery retainers just in case I decide to put some taller LiPos in at some point.
Always something to do or upgrade...
With the little upgrades in place and with the Badlands installed in lieu of the DirtHawgs.
Is this a spoiled RC or what? I still have the DirtHawgs I got for it, plus the Badlands set I picked up. And... The Trenchers which the previous owner had put on it.
I also picked up a charger and oddly enough I thought it looked very similar to my Traxxas charger I already had...
Wow... Menus the same, settings the same. Case essentially the same. Yup... I wonder how many of these were made for different companies and the only thing different was the welcome script, the colour, and the branding on them? If I were to open up both chargers I'll bet they are virtually identical.
