I suppose that those of us who compete in such a potentially destructive competition should regard our models as disposable. Having said that I'm getting increasingly attached to mine!
There were fewer collisions this year but over 60% of the models were damaged during the event, some beyond economical repair, but at least those unfortunates have an entire year in which to build a replacement and the Baron 1914 is cheap and easy to build.
Incidentally the results of the event have been published and the pilot with the extremely fast model referred to above in 5995 won the pylon race having completed 63 circuits. Only two other pilots managed to achieve 50 or more. The same man won the entire competition.
