Default Optimum lifting weight

I am building a Sig 1/4 scale cub on floats and I am installing an OS 160 Gemini twin in it. I beefed up the fire wall using 1/2 Russian ply which added weight. I used this method because I didn't like the flimsy ply it came with plus having to glue them together. I know the rating for this engine is approx 2hp but what I don't know is what would be the optimum weight the aircraft should be and what size prop. Being on floats will add significant drag but what I would like to know is how much should this aircraft, when completed be? I like flying scale, so no hot dogging so I'm looking for scale performance with hopefully a little extra power to get out of any sticky situations. Any help would be appreciated.
