The cowl was reinforced with plywood at the split. Small #0 sheet metal screws will be used along the sides to help hold the shape. The top is epoxied in place. Four nylon screws will also hold the bottom against the firewall. The cowl doesn't fit even with the fuse by 1/16" in places. The whole top and sides of the fuselage will have to be blended from the cowl aft to the cockpit shroud to form a smooth shape.
Clean cut with Dremel tool
