Jim,
As much as I love the looks and history of the Monocoupes I think I will stay away from the this particular clipped wing version.

I had a used one that I brought back to 99% condition - I had a brand new OS 200 4 stroke in it swinging an 18"APC prop. Tons of power.
But you know, every time I flew it, which was NOT often, my knees knocked together!
For my skills a tough plane to fly - tended to ground loop, very subject to cross winds, and definitely you had to keep a lot of speed up to
land it successfully and avoid any stalls.
But what a Beauty!
Been temped to consider the Extreme Flight version as I suspect it would fly a lot better for a guy like me.
