I can only imagine they sacrificed tail moment to be able to place the CG further back down the fuselage to make it less "nose heavy" when the fuse is the "wing" during knife edge.
Thank you, now that you point that out, perhaps that is why it looks different or strange to me
The wings look like where you would expect to see a canalyzer on a monopolane
Again, based on the WC results, it obviously does fly well ! Just strange that it is so different from most other F3A biplane designs I've seen.
